Masking & Testing
Company-wide testing will not be required at this time. However, company members experiencing any symptoms associated with COVID-19 – including but not limited to headache, sore throat, cough, runny nose, fatigue, nausea, and loss of taste/smell – are expected to test IMMEDIATELY to rule out COVID-19.
Company members who have been in direct, recent contact with anyone who tests positive for COVID-19 will be required to test – regardless of symptoms – 3 days from the date of exposure. Masking is required until negative test results are confirmed.
Tests and masks can be retrieved from from the CCO in the CATF administrative offices in the Center for Contemporary Arts I at 92 West Campus Drive. If you feel unwell or that you should avoid contact until you have confirmed a negative status, the CCO will contact Company Management to delivery the appropriate mask and testing materials.
If you feel so unwell that you wish to immediately see a doctor, call the on-call phone and we will take you to an emergency room or urgent care; there is no need to first test.
Should five (5) company members test positive in any five (5) day period, testing shall be required every other day and masks must be worn at all times (with the exception of performing actors) for a period of 14 days from the 5th confirmed case regardless of risk level. In this scenario, actors should wear masks in rehearsal.
CATF will take reasonable action to keep our community safe, and we ask that you be prepared to adapt to any evolving situation with the community-interest in mind.
Reporting Positive Test Results
Positive test results should be reported IMMEDIATELY to the Covid Compliance Officers by calling 681-240-4051. If your call is not immediately answered and you feel well enough to do so, positive test results can also be reported via this form, which collects additional information to support contract tracing.
During the testing and reporting procedure, please self isolate from other company members until a negative test result is produced.
In the case of a positive test result, the Covid Compliance Officers will coordinate support from Company Management in moving you to an isolated healing room and will contact your supervisor/stage manager/etc. to inform them that you will be absent from work. Company Management will continue to be in contact to check in and provide support for any materials needed during isolation.
Please reach out to the Covid Compliance Officers at cco@catf.org at any time with any questions or concerns. Updates regarding COVID-19 will be sent from this email.
Reporting Positive Test Results Once the Festival has Opened
While reporting positive results quickly will help us to care for you and others, rapid notification is especially important once the festival has officially opened. The sooner we know about a positive test, the sooner we can arrange for an understudy or ensure that a run crew is appropriately staffed. Do not hesitate to call AND email the CCO officers at any time of day.
Isolation & Return to Work
All individuals who test positive for COVID-19 shall isolate consistent with CDC guidance. Company management will move you to a healing room and facilitate food service and medical care. After isolation, company members should test on days 5 & 7. Company members can return to work MASKED on day 6, provided they are asymptomatic. Company members can return to work UNMASKED on day 8, provided they are asymptomatic and test negative. (Day 0 is considered the first day of symptoms or – if asymptomatic – the day of a positive test result.)
These policies and procedures are subject to change as we will respond as the situation demands. We ask that all staff support the effort to keep our community healthy and safe.
